Katê Festival 2025: The Most Colorful Cham Event in Vietnam!

The Kate Festival 2025 is the most vibrant celebration of the Cham people in Vietnam, held in Ninh Thuan with colorful rituals, music, and dance. It’s a once-a-year chance to witness ancient traditions, explore Cham culture, and join locals in a truly unique spiritual festivity.
 

The Katê Festival is one of the most important Cham Hindu celebrations in Central Vietnam, held each year in Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and nearby Cham communities.

It honors Po Klaong Garai and King Po Rome, prays for good weather and abundant harvests, and brings the Cham community together through music, dance, and traditional customs.

The Katê Festival usually takes place in early July of the ancient Cham calendar, around late September to early October in the solar calendar.

👉 This year, the festival will be held on October 20 & 21, 2025, lasting for about three days with an atmosphere that is both sacred and festive.

During the festival, the Cham people wear vibrant traditional costumes. Women often dress in áo dài, drape scarves, and wear headdresses decorated with delicate patterns.

At the Cham towers, people present offerings to their deities in reverence and pray for blessings of good fortune.

The main activities of the festival take place at the famous Cham towers, especially Po Klaong Garai (Ninh Thuan), Po Rome (Ninh Thuan), and Po Sah Inu (Binh Thuan). These sacred sites become the center of rituals, prayers, and cultural performances during the celebration.

After the main ceremonies are completed, the Cham people also take part in many other activities.
