On February 14th, the globally renowned culinary website, Taste Atlas, released the list of the world's best gastronomic cities for 2023, aiming to honor the local cuisine of various destinations. Particularly noteworthy, Hué secured the 28th position in the ranking.
Culinary experts and travelers from around the globe have awarded an impressive rating of 4.56/5 to the cuisine of this Vietnamese city. The most famous dishes highlighted include bun bo, banh bot loc, clam rice, nem lui, che, banh nam, banh phu the, tom chua, and che.
The cuisine of Huế encompasses two main categories: the royal court cuisine and the popular cuisine of Huế. The diversity of ingredients, from simple flavors to refined delicacies, along with the commitment and talent of successive generations, have elevated Huế's gastronomic culture to an exceptional level.
Nearly 400,000 votes from experts and international customers across 16,000 cities worldwide participated in the vote to select the top 100 dishes. Selection criteria included fame, popularity, and local specificity.
