FAQ

Frequently asked questions

1. What kind of cuisine can I expect on this trip?

On a Thailand Cambodia Vietnam trip, you can expect to enjoy a diverse and flavorful array of cuisines. Thai cuisine offers dishes like pad Thai, green curry, and mango sticky rice. In Cambodia, you’ll find traditional dishes such as amok (coconut fish curry) and lok lak (stir-fried beef). Vietnamese cuisine is known for pho (noodle soup), banh mi (sandwich), and fresh spring rolls. Street food is also a highlight in all three countries, providing an authentic taste of local flavors and culinary traditions. Each country's cuisine reflects its cultural heritage and uses fresh, local ingredients.

2. What is the best time to visit Cambodia?

The dry season from mid-October to April is ideal for visiting Cambodia due to its mild weather, clear blue skies, and minimal rainfall. From May to September, although it is the rainy season, the rain typically lasts only one or two hours per day. The rest of the day is sunny, making sightseeing still possible.

3. How do I manage the visa requirements for a Thailand Cambodia Vietnam tour?

Managing visa requirements for a Thailand Cambodia Vietnam trip involves checking the specific regulations for each country based on your nationality. Thailand often offers visa-free entry or visas on arrival for many travelers. Cambodia provides an e-Visa system and visas on arrival at major entry points. Vietnam requires most travelers to obtain a visa, which can be done through the e-Visa system or visa on arrival. It’s essential to verify the latest visa requirements and ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

4. Can you reach Cambodia by air?

Yes, it is absolutely possible to reach Cambodia by air. You can take a flight from Ho Chi Minh City (or Hanoi) to Siem Reap and dedicate the rest of your trip to exploring the magnificent Angkorian temples.

5. What are the best times to travel to Vietnam and Cambodia?

Vietnam has a varied climate from north to south due to its diverse topographies and the length of the country (2000 km from north to south). When one region is humid, cold, or rainy, another may be pleasantly sunny. Based on our experience, the best time to visit Vietnam is from October to April. During this period, the best months are October to November and mid-March to May. These are the times when the climate remains pleasant and, moreover, they are the least rainy months of the year in Vietnam. For the months of July and August, it is a bit hot (30-35 degrees), but Halong Bay is usually sunny. You will also have the chance to see the region colored by green or yellow rice terraces stretching as far as the eye can see. As for the south, although it is the rainy season, the rain will not last all day but only one or two hours per day. The rest of the day is sunny. The climate in Cambodia is quite similar to that in southern Vietnam.

If you already have an idea about the time of your trip (winter, summer...), please let us know, and we can guide you on the most favorable months.

6. Can I choose the date of the trip?

Yes, you can set a period with the weeks that suits you best or allows you to buy the cheapest flight tickets. Then we will tailor our program for you. Keep in mind that being an agency specialized in tailor-made trips, we know how to design a tour according to your availability.

7. When is the best time to visit Vietnam?

Due to the terrain and geographical location, the climate in Vietnam is quite diverse from north to south.

When one area is wet, cold, or rainy, another may be sunny and dry. In our experience, the best time to travel to Vietnam is from October to April. More specifically, the best months are from October to November and mid-March to May, when the weather is pleasant, with little rainfall, conducive to a variety of tourist activities.

In July and August it is a bit hot (30-35 degrees), but Ha Long Bay is usually sunny. You'll also have the chance to see the northern mountains adorned with green or yellow rice fields and terraces that stretch as far as the eye can see. Meanwhile, in the south it's the rainy season, but the rains don't last all day, just an hour or two. The remaining days are sunny.

8. Do I need to be vaccinated to travel to Thailand?

Another topic that gets a lot of attention in Thailand's tourism is vaccination.

According to the latest announcements in October 2022, there is no mandatory vaccination to enter Thailand, including the Covid-19 vaccine. Only Argentines are exempt and need to be certified as a yellow fever vaccine to enter the country. Although not required, there are some major recommended vaccines, such as the hepatitis A, tetanus-diphtheria, and typhoid vaccine.

If you are still concerned about vaccination, you can consult the international vaccination center, your doctor, or the Thai embassy in your country for more information.

9. Do I need a visa to visit Thailand?

For tourists from the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, and most EU countries, a Thailand Tourist Visa is issued by a Thai Embassy, Consulate, or e-visa system for tourism purposes, unlike the 60-day visa exemption (extendable by 30 days) granted on arrival. Work is not allowed.

  • Single-Entry Tourist Visa: Valid for 3 months, allows a 60-day stay (extendable by 30 days), available from Thai embassies/consulates or e-visa portal. Each person applies individually.
  • Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa: Valid for 6 months, permits multiple 60-day stays (each extendable by 30 days), obtainable through the same channels.
  • Requirements: Passport (6+ months validity), application form, photo, onward travel proof, financial proof (10,000 THB/person or 20,000 THB/family), and accommodation proof.
10. Do I need a visa to travel to Vietnam? If not, how can I get one?

If you are a citizen of the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, or Belarus, you can enter Vietnam visa-free for up to 45 days. Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic have a special exemption from March 1 to December 31, 2025 for organized tours.

If you are from the US, Australia, Canada, or New Zealand, you must obtain a visa before arrival. The E-Visa (valid for up to 90 days) is the easiest option, available online in 3-5 days. Visa on Arrival (VOA) requires a pre-approval letter, or you can apply at a Vietnamese Embassy or Consulate.

To avoid issues, apply early, ensure your passport is valid for 6+ months, and have proof of onward travel. The E-Visa is recommended for convenience. Please contact us for visa assistance.
