An electrifying, high-decibel atmosphere is about to sweep over Thailand’s eastern coast: the world-renowned Tomorrowland festival is set to arrive in Chonburi, near Pattaya, starting December 2026. This marks a historic first for Southeast Asia and a major opportunity for the Land of Smiles to strengthen its position on the global cultural event scene.
According to Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), organizers have confirmed the selection of a private site in Chonburi Province as the venue — an ideal location for hosting such a large-scale event. Just a few hours from Bangkok, the region is well-connected with three international airports: Suvarnabhumi, U-Tapao, and Don Mueang.
Chonburi’s well-developed tourism infrastructure, particularly in Pattaya, is ready to welcome tens of thousands of festivalgoers, offering a wide range of accommodations and services.
“This won’t be a one-off event. A minimum five-year contract has been signed, marking a long-term investment in Thailand’s festival industry,” Ms. Thapanee stated.
The Thai government will support the organization with an average budget of USD 10 million per edition, with a total projected budget of 1 billion baht. This backing is expected to ensure that the festival meets the world-class standards of Tomorrowland, widely regarded as the most prestigious electronic music festival globally.
In addition to spectacular performances, Tomorrowland will bring its Tomorrowland Academy and an event training center to Thailand, aiming to equip local professionals with international-level expertise in organizing large-scale events.
