There aren’t many independent restaurants on the island, but most guesthouses and bungalows have their own kitchens, and you can eat there even if you’re not a guest.
If you stay in Koh Toch Village or on Koh Toch Beach, you’ll have the most options. In more remote areas, your guesthouse restaurant is likely the only place nearby.
Be sure to try local dishes like Fish Amok, Kdam Chaa (crab with Kampot pepper), and Lap Khmer (beef salad). Some spots even serve stir-fried beef with ants for the curious.
To get to Koh Rong or Koh Rong Samloem from the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, several options are available. In any case, you must first get to Sihanoukville, a city located on the southern coast of Cambodia.
